Atomic structure and electromagnetic explore lab

Question- what are the identities of the unknown solutions?
Why is a flame test able to be used?

Evidence-
Metal ion

Calcium-bright orange

Barium-green/yellow

Copper- green

Lithium-red

Potassium-orange

Sodium-yellow/orange

Strontium-red/orange

Unknown #1- light orange

Unknown #2-red/Orange

Unknown #3/green/yellow

Unknown #4-bright orange

We used our evidence of the unknown metals and compared that to the unknown metals and determined that:

The unknowns were the same shade as the knowns and we incorporated that into finding the answer , although there was some colors we could tell apart based on the shades themselves.

The flame test is able to differentiate the amount of electrons which is important because when energy is absorbed by the electron it gets excited and then drops which causes the color of light to appear
